These versatile headboards are a wonderful accessory to any bedroom. The headboards use the same decorating concept as the cornices and tuck tables and attach directly to the wall using mounting brackets.

Measurements: All headboards are 24" tall Twin-39" wide Full-54" wide Queen-60" wide King-76" wide Materials needed: Fabric & optional trim for decorating, scissors, tape measure, low temperature hot glue gun, and multi-purpose glue sticks. Assembling the headboard: Lay out the pieces as they will be assembled. The frame will need to be glued together. You will not glue the middle of the headboard to the frame. Applying fabric: Cut the fabric into strips. The strips should be the width of the contour plus 1" for average weight fabrics. Add a little more width for light fabrics and a little less for heavy fabrics. For the length of the strip, measure from the bottom of one leg, across the entire top, & down to the bottom of the opposite leg, plus 4" for hemming. For a gathered effect, add 3" instead of 1" to the width and double or triple the length of your fabric strip depending upon the amount of gathering you want. For the middle of the headboard (the soft foam), you will need a single piece of fabric the width of the center foam insert plus 16" by 45". Work from the outside contour to the inside. If you are gathering contours, do those last. Start at the bottom of one side and work your way around. |
